Scope note
Christian monuments in the form of a column and dedicated to or featuring the Holy Trinity, erected as a gesture of public faith, as a plague column, or for another purpose. Common in Catholic countries of Europe, especially in the 17th and 18th centuries. Some trinity columns are triangular in plan.
